There are very few legal off-road places in this area. You will find that you are best served by joining HORRA or SCORRA or the KW group to get access to off-road/green- or no-plate riding.

As for DS riding, a lot of us are in the area and we usually head north, south, or east from there (Collingwood, Turkey Point, Eastern Ontario/Ganaraska, etc.).

    Best of luck...be careful.

I live in Burlington and, like most areas, there are places that some riders insist on using but they are definitely on Private Property and they are trespassing.

If you are looking at off-road only and will be hauling your bike to the ride area, then there are NONE. If you are blue-plating your bike and will be street legal, then there are places you can sneak in, but then make a fast exit when you hear the sirens .... you'll really have to find those yourself.

ODSC Members are also members of OFTR and support their Code of Ethics on where to ride. You may have seen some non-members here post about riding in illegal areas, but those posts should get deleted by the Moderators.

Curious, which posts are you referring to, Bob? Perhaps pm them to the execs?

The Bike is blue plated. I could sneak in and out, but I am trying to avoid getting in trouble. I rode last weekend near a clay quarry in Burlington, but the no trespassing signs scare me off

Steel city riders looks interesting, and may be the best way to get some off road riding in.

I read somewhere that there is a trail near the Welland canal

Might be time to get a pickup truck in the spring, Ganaraska is calling too

I'm a Steel city member and live in the area near their property. If you have any questions, don't be shy.

I live next to that clay pit and it's very rare that anyone rides there now - we can clearly hear any bikes that trespass - as the pit is active again and police get calls from nearby residents and quickly respond.

I would not have made the recommendation, because I thought most people here would be looking for something different, but it looks like we'll have two new members soon.

For people that don't know, the club has a real, natural terrain motocross track, and a hare scramble loop in the woods that is typically in the 10-12km range, but can open up to almost 20km for events. They run a motocross series with half the events at the club track, as well as what they call an off road endurance series, all held on the club property. It's a very friendly, family oriented club, and great for beginners and experienced riders.

    Yes , I'll agree.

Steel City has it going on and has for the past few years.

Great place to go if you have kids that want/race they have a great program.

If you're looking to ride some trails in the west Hamilton/Ancaster area, I could show you a few. Shoot me a PM! I know its a little late in the season now, but I still try to get out for a short ride every so often.

    This is my first post.
I've been street riding for 35 years but just bought a wr250 Green Plate to try some off road.
I Also live in Burlington and am looking for places to ride.
Last weekend I went to the Welland Canal, it was really muddy but avoidable.

If anyone is looking to get out on the weekend and don't mind a newby coming along PM me, I'd love to find some local trails to ride.

Newb here getting back into riding after about 30 years. I've joined OFTR selecting ODSC and HORRA as my clubs. I'm also in the Burlington area. It'd be great to learn more about local areas (such that they are) before the season begins.
