I have a Montana 600 with Backroads SD card installed. I purchased the Garmin City Navigator on DVD hoping to load it onto the Backroads SD card so I could flip from the Baclroads map to the City Navigator maps. I went to load the City Navigator maps onto the GPS unit and it starts the setup then it stops working and gives me an error " Garmin GPS updator has stopped working". Then it states"Contact Garmin" has anyone else tried to load City navigator onto a Backroads SD card? Has anyone else had similar issue wth City Navigator installation not working. Any help would be graetky appreciated. I tried installation on a Windows Vista and a Windows 7 computer same issue.

There was a discussion on a previous thread in this Forum where the Backroad Maps rep said that you could add data to their cards (I'd made a comment you couldn't but that was the old setup and now you could).

You should be able to add a map to their card if there is enough space. City Navigator N America takes just over 1 GB so check how much free space you have on the Card. You could install it in the internal memory of the Montana - there's lots of space there.

Perhaps contact Backroad maps, they seem to be a very helpful company.

BTW, the maps don't need to be on the same to "flip between them". You just Enable or Disable each map in Setup.
